She was born Christina Haack in Anaheim, California on the 9th of July, 1983. Her career began in real estate after graduating from school. In this industry, she met Tarek. Following the 2008 collapse of the stock exchange, the real estate market was hit hard by investors and homeowners lost their funds. As a result of the crash Tarek and Christina El Moussa were close to losing the entirety of their wealth. The couple moved from their expensive house, for which they paid $6,000 for a month to a smaller home that cost just $700. The business grew slowly and overall economic performance improved. HGTV & Rise to Fame Tarek enlisted an acquaintance to develop an audition tape to HGTV which featured Christina reflipping properties starting from scratch. Pie Town Productions executives received the tape. These executives were fascinated by Tarek's and Christina's love story. In 2012 the couple reached a deal with HGTV. The series "Flip of Flop", premiered on the 13th April 2013. Over seven seasons between 2013 and 2017 the show was broadcast in 92 episodes. Christina and Tarek acquired properties located in Orange County that were usually mid-income homes. They then spent several weeks renovating the house so that they can flip it into a profitable return. Tarek's main focus is demolition and remodelling, while Christina concentrates on design.
