Leona LaurenLeona Louise (born 3 April , 1986) is an British actor, singer active, activist, and actress. Born in Islington, a part of the London Borough of Islington, she attended The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology located in Croydon. Lewis was recognized as a national star as she won the third season of The X Factor 2006 and was awarded a contract of PS1 million and Syco music. Her winner's single, the cover version to Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This", peaked at number one for several weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke a world record by reaching the milestone of 50,000 downloads in just thirty minutes. In February 2007, Lewis was signed to a contract for five albums with the United States with Clive Davis's label, J Records. Lewis's success only increased when she dropped her debut album Spirit (2007). The album was certified platinum in the UK, becoming the fourth-best-selling album in the 2000s. Spirit is, as per Official Charts Company is the 21st Century's most-sold debut album of a female artist. Its opening track "Bleeding Love" remained on top of the UK charts for seven weeks before becoming the single with the highest sales in 2007. The track was the highest-seller of 2008, as well. Lewis earned her Billboard Award for the Best New Artist. Echo was her sophomore studio album. The album also featured the song "I Have You in My Eyes" for Avatar. Lewis' single "Collide," was an collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and she also dropped Hurt The EP, her first play that was extended. Glassheart (2012) was Lewis' three studio albums. This was Lewis the first time she tried electronic dubstep and music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the mid-year of 2013, and she started recording songs to record her first Christmas album. Christmas, with Love was released later in the year. Its opening track, "One More Sleep" reached the top spot at three in the UK. Lewis, an British female solo artist, was the first British solo artist to break the Top Five with eight singles. The record is higher than Olivia Newton John's record which was seven.
