Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe began his studies at the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. In addition to his role in the drama series that was released worldwide under the name The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other internationally highly acclaimed Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also played a lead role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, he was the role of President Russia. In the year 2018, he took home an International Emmy Award for his character as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was shown in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish and German. He also speaks multiple accents. Mikkelsen has said that the two brothers first began to learn English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
